Mr. Piacun has served as President of the Croatian Benevolent Association since 2011. A native of New Orleans, Louisiana, Mr. Piacun is an attorney and a principal of the law firm of Gennusa, Piacun & Ruli in Metairie, Louisiana. Mr. Piacun is a second generation Croatian-American; his father and other family members immigrated to New Orleans from the small fishing village of Sucuraj on the island of Hvar, Croatia. Mr. Piacun is married to Gina Gennusa Piacun and they have three children. Mr. Piacun is active in the Croatian-American community, and also currently serves as Vice-President of the Croatian American Society.

Stephen Barbier, Secretary
Mr. Barbier has served on the Board of Directors of the Croatian Benevolent Association since 2012. A native of New Orleans, Louisiana, Mr. Barbier retired from Chevron Corp. after working for 36 ½ years as a financial analyst. Mr. Barbier is a fourth generation Croatian-American; his great grandfather John Barbier (originally Ivan Barbir) was born in Dusina and lived in Vrgorac on the Dalmatian Coast of Croatia before immigrated to Venice, LA. Mr. Barbier is married to Billie Kaul Barbier and they have three children.

Joseph Franks, II, Treasurer
Mr. Franks has served as Treasurer of the Croatian Benevolent Association since 2016. A native of New Orleans, Louisiana, Mr. Franks is a certified public accountant and an officer of the accounting firm of Bernard & Franks, a Corp. of C.P.A.s. Mr. Franks’ grandfather and father immigrated to New Orleans from the town of Sucuraj on the island of Hvar, Croatia. Also, his mother’s parents immigrated to New Orleans from the Peljesac peninsula, Croatia. Mr. Franks is active in the Croatian-American community and also is a member of the Croatian American Society.
